Autism Assessment & Diagnosis

Autism is a neurodevelopmental profile characterised by differences in social behaviours, communication and interests, and commonly involves repetitive behaviours, intense interests and passions, and sensory preferences. Having a neurodevelopmental assessment to identify your little warriors neurodevelopmental profile of strengths and differences is the beginning to gaining understanding and support for your little warrior and your family.

Some parents might be very reluctant to pursue an autism assessment for their child, especially if they are averse to labels or worry their little warrior will no longer be seen beyond their autism diagnosis. At LW we understand that every child is different and strongly encourage parents to seek assessment and diagnosis. Regardless of diagnostic outcome, the robust assessment process has immense value in identifying the neurodevelopmental mechanism behind any current challenges experienced by your child.

At LW we provide the gold standard in Autism assessment. We provide a thorough standardised observational measure, standardised measures of behaviour and adaptive functioning, as well as obtaining information from multiple sources across multiple environments. Our assessment includes:

Parent intake interview
Formal standardised observational assessment (MIGDAS)
Parent report measures (ASRS, BASC-3)
Teacher feedback
Compilation, analysis and interpretation of results
Preparation of report
Feedback session

Total Price $1350

* NDIS requires an additional assessment measure (Vinelands Assessment of Adaptive Functioning) and letter of support. An additional $250 fee is added to cover the additional resources and time required.
